Start-up: Mastering Excel for Financial Modelling

Overview
This exciting one day (or two evening) course focuses mainly on key Excel functionalities and mechanics useful to financial modelling and spreadsheet analysis. It involves customising the Excel environment, reviewing certain features and functions, and their practical application.

Financial Modelling

Overview
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to financial modelling. It will teach delegates how to use Excel effectively to design and build financial statement models, perform what-if-analysis and apply industry best practices. It adopts a simple, intuitive, step-by-step, hands-on approach to the model build process using real-life cases.

Who should attend?
This course is ideal for all those who are new to financial modelling and have a reasonable basic knowledge of Excel. The course provides a solid foundation for delegates wishing to attend our intermediate financial modelling course.

Prerequisites
Basic Excel knowledge, such as:
o Entering and editing data or text
o Performing and editing simple calculations in Excel such as Additions, Subtractions, Divisions, Multiplications

Accounting knowledge
o An introductory knowledge of accounting (e.g. interaction of balance sheet, cash flow, and income statement).

Delegates with little or no Excel or accounting knowledge are highly recommended to enrol on the Start-up course.

Course Director

The course director is Atem Akoh-Arrey, a senior consultant at PKF (UK) LLP, a top 10 UK firm of accountants and business advisers. He has many years of experience developing complex financial models for infrastructure projects funded by corporate or project finance or bond financing. His clients include Barclays, HSBC, Nationwide, Royal Bank of Scotland, Bank of Ireland, Allied Irish Bank, Nord LB and SMBC.

The course fees are just £375 + VAT for the Excel start-up and £800 + VAT for Financial Modelling. All delegates also have access to post-course technical support from the instructor.
